Well, I've been doing some work on this lately (merging userland fixes) and Dan Moschuk has pledged his help as well, but I don't feel qualified to act as some kind of "project leader" because of my relative UNIX code inexperience (when I see a patch for a problem I can understand how it fixes it, and whether it applies to our code, but I don't have enough of a big picture yet to go looking for problems myself).
