I'll give that a try. I haven't used cvs before, so I get the chance to learn many new things :-) I had installed the binaries from XFree86.org, and they kinda sorta worked, so I am glad to see there are improvements even on that. It is kind of a drag not to be able to switch away from (and then back to) the GUI terminal. Also, agp.ko couldn't allocate any memory, so I was stuck at 8-bit color. (Note the hopeful use of past tense...)
