Assuming you have a supported CD burner, you could do this.

The FreeBSD mkisofs command preserves the long filenames using Rock Ridge
extensions (00_TRANS.TBL).  I don't think you cando this very easily with
OSs that don't recognize the long names.

Yes.  The packages will not work otherwise.

See /usr/share/examples/worm for scripts and instructions for doing this
under FreeBSD.  Of course you'll need a support CD writer.
