You should also seriously consider moving to AfterStep-1.6.6
(afterstep-devel in /usr/ports/x11-wm/) as it is easier to consider.  If
you still have trouble configuring things you could try ascp - no port yet
but all you need to do is install gtk11 from /usr/ports/graphics/ and it
should compile - at least it used to.  I'm not using AS anymore.  You can
find ascp at:
