A TA is a rather moronic piece of hardware and shouldn't have anything to do with the higher levels of data communication. But there is a number of them (like the German ELSA TAs) which insist on doing some kind of async <-> sync conversion (as they call it). ComOS doesnm't like this at all. (It's generally a good idea to let ComOS decide and permit it to use any authentication mechanism it knows about.) Another thought: Are you sure you're using the required layer 2 and 3 protocols? ComOS is able to handle anything it gets - if nobody deactivated the features. Ask your ISP's tech support to take a look at the debugging output of their Porthamster - they should be able to help you.
