And the price is 0.00 + telephone costs! Here is the story from last weekend: I was in search of a Linux distro that could be downloaded. So I stumbled upon FreeBSD and decided to give it a try. First I installed FreeBSD 4.2 via FTP with PPP. I succeeded at the x'th attempt ;-) (gave up counting how many times I booted the floppies) Then I tried installing KDE 2.0, but it didn't work. Konqueror complain about "coun't create view for text/html" and other apps are exploding too... Then I tried to upgrade to FreeBSD 4.3 RC 3 but you can't install it via FTP/PPP, it complains that the tunnel device isn't present. So I downloaded the "bin" and "crypto" (<-- because I read in the mail archives that "libssl.so.2" is conained in the crypto) distros onto my Windows partition and installed from there. No problem here too. Now I can run KDE 2.1.1 and it works with no problem at all. I am currently writing this mail in K-Mail :-) Next I will try KDevelop. many greetings and KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! -chris To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
