As stated earlier in this mailing list, FreeBSD is currently in a
ports freeze in preparation for 5.3-RELEASE.  Only security and other
fixes deemed 'critical' are being allowed in the tree at the moment.

In addition, any port like this which will affect so many users
needs some testing before it is committed to the tree.

One of the most active members of this list is also conributing
directly to the X.org codebase, so he's aware of the release status,
of course.
