[head-i386-default-job-05] Extracting sndio-1.1.0_1: .......... done Message from sndio-1.1.0_1: Sndio's OSS support (i.e. local playback/recording support) is highly experimental. If you run into problems please file a bug at https://github.com/t6/sndio or send an email to t+sndio@tobik.me. Enable the sndiod server with: sysrc sndiod_enable=YES service sndiod start Please note that by default sndiod is configured with a monitoring sub-device i.e. a device through which you can record everything that plays through sndiod: aucat -f snd/0.monitor -o recording.wav Make sure you override sndiod_flags if this is not wanted: sysrc sndiod_flags="" If you want clients to auto-play to your remote sndio server set sndiod_flags accordingly: sysrc sndiod_flags="-f snd@remotehost/0" Alternatively you can always set the AUDIODEVICE environment variable so clients know where to stream to: export AUDIODEVICE=snd@remotehost/0 There is little sndio support in the FreeBSD ports tree right now. If your favourite port is missing support please take a look at the fork at https://github.com/t6/freebsd-ports-sndio and https://github.com/t6/freebsd-ports-sndio/wiki/Status which contains patches that enable sndio support in various ports. audio/pulseaudio-module-sndio is a PulseAudio module that allows you to play to your sndio server. This is useful for ports that have PulseAudio support but no direct sndio support. ===> pulseaudio-module-sndio-8.0 depends on shared library: libsndio.so - found (/usr/local/lib/libsndio.so) ===> Returning to build of pulseaudio-module-sndio-8.0 ===> pulseaudio-module-sndio-8.0 depends on shared library: libpulse.so - not found ===> Installing existing package /packages/All/pulseaudio-9.0.txz [head-i386-default-job-05] Installing pulseaudio-9.0... Message from pulseaudio-9.0: Pulseaudio doesn't know about the hw.snd.default_unit=3 sysctl for the FreeBSD OSS driver that is used to select the active input/output. So for Pulseaudio we also need to tell it which input/output to use. The difference is that Pulseaudio has separate input and output configure lines. To change the default sink (output): # pacmd set-default-sink 3 To change the default source (input): # pacmd set-default-source 3 This can also be set in /usr/local/etc/pulse/default.pa Replace the number '3' with the new default your want to set. The audio/freedesktop-sound-theme is needed if the default sound files are uncommented in the /usr/local/etc/pulse/default.pa file. ===> pulseaudio-module-sndio-8.0 depends on shared library: libpulse.so - found (/usr/local/lib/libpulse.so) ===> Returning to build of pulseaudio-module-sndio-8.0 =========================================================================== =================================================== ===> Configuring for pulseaudio-module-sndio-8.0 =========================================================================== =================================================== ===> Building for pulseaudio-module-sndio-8.0 cc -O2 -pipe -fstack-protector -fno-strict-aliasing `pkg-config --cflags libpulse` -fPIC -I. -c module-sndio.c -o module-sndio.o cc -shared module-sndio.o -Wl,-rpath -Wl,/usr/local/lib -Wl,-rpath -Wl,/usr/local/lib/pulseaudio -fstack-protector -L/usr/local/lib -L/usr/local/lib/pulseaudio -lpulsecore-8.0 -lpulsecommon-8.0 -lpulse -lsndio -o module-sndio.so /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lpulsecore-8.0 cc: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation) *** Error code 1 Stop. make[1]: stopped in /wrkdirs/usr/ports/audio/pulseaudio-module-sndio/work/pulseaudio-module-sndio-8.0 *** Error code 1 Stop. make: stopped in /usr/ports/audio/pulseaudio-module-sndio
