I had not done a make clean when I did the "make package" and it created a binary package in short order. The created package then installed and worked flawlessly on the new machine! This is great! So I did as you suggested, and exported /usr/ports/ to the new machine, (/usr/local/net/ports/) this way when I need something over there I can just pkg_create and then pkg_add to the other Work Station I am sure there is a way to include the nfs-mounted /usr/local/net/ports in the search-path on that Work Stations "portupgrade" facility, so that if Kelly wants to install something independently on her machine, and does a "portupgrade -NRP <package-name>; portupgrade will look for and use the needed files in /usr/local/net/ports first, but still upgrade and maintain it's own database. This will require some more digging in the very fine manual.... This is a gorgeous OS! Thanks again for all the help!
