The error is reported to be in the configure script (if you ``make patch'', you can edit work/k*/configure - line 4596), but the script, although clearly not doing what it was intended to, is syntactically correct. What shell are you running the script with (I know it's got ``#! /bin/sh'' at the top), and what's SHELL set to ?
