I have *NO* idea, but I've been using trn on FreeBSD since trn-2.1, and
I've *NEVER* had any problems whatsoever with it.  I use it to read all
my News (Thanks Wayne!) and couldn't see switching to another news
reader, except for maybe strn. :)

I don't know what to tell you.  I will admit that I never shell out of
trn (Job Control is your friend), and recently I've been trying to keep
up with J"org's posting frenzy, so I don't know what to say.
