I set up quite awhile ago, now-a-days the way to do it would be to use the port. Check out : http://www.westbend.net/~hetzels/apache-fp/ and/or http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/ports.cgi?query=frontpage&stype=all I tried it to test it ( it never actually got used ) and it seemed to install ok. Many people have expressed concerns regarding the extensions, I've have not tested them ( beat them up enough ) to confirm these concerns one way or another.
