 From whence did you attempt to obtain the docs?
IOW, what "site"?

They are freely available for viewing on the website
and for download via anonymous ftp at ftp.freebsd.org
or one of its many mirror sites.

If you are not familiar with anonymous ftp, and
that is the "password" you are referring to, simply
use "anonymous" as the login or username and
your email address as your password.
