try using the boot loader on the floppy
and when prompted

enter example:
wd:(1,a)kernel

which boots from a second hard drive

it can be tricky
you can try pointing to the proper slice

i'm not sure but "wd:(0,a)kernel" will boot from referring to hard drive 0
slice a
check the docs for proper instructions
