No panic, segfault or whatsoever. I also tested an uniprocessor setup, by putting kern.smp.disabled=1 in /boot/loader.conf. After rebooting, the system says it's running uniprocessor. On uniprocessor, i have the very same problem. I noticed, that when i change sysctl variable dev.cpu.0.freq_levels, the system hangs immediatly.
