I don't agree with the maintainer getting the patches before the rest of
the world.  While I agree that sending the maintainer the patches is a
good idea, it should be done as part of the send-pr simultaneously.. not
one before the other.  The rest of the world has no idea when the
maintainer originally got the patches, if it doesn't happen that way.
