Hi Wyatt,

yes this work around results in use of Gen3/Gen3 PCIe emulation.

I have raised bug reports on various NIC/SCSI & VirtIO issues...

I also am running a pfsense machine and have deliberately avoided upgrading
this so I do not hit these uncovered bugs.

I did test with 11.4 and believe that the issue with netmap is resolved, but
virtio issues are not.
