AFAIK,basically .... no

x86 -> x86
and
x64 -> x64

Non-basically ... yes but it's a real pain in the @$$ and you will
definitely run in all kinds of trouble.

ip you have KVM access, just put a x64 DVD inside and do a clean install (it
will keep your sanity intact)
