I just installed FreeBSD 2.0.5-REALEASE on my Thinkpad 500, replacing 1.1.5.

In any case, does 2.0.5R support PCMCIA 28.8 modems like my Practical
Peripherals 28.8 ProClass? If not, will it soon?

The PCMCIA answer string shows up when the port is probed(i.e. when zp0 is
probed, since I also have a 3COM Etherlink III PCMCIA that sometimes
occupies the slot). Unfortunately, I have not gotten Kermit to recognize
the modem.

Also, I seem to be unable to configure my 3Com Etherlink III to be able
to see the outside world. I can ping myself, but I can't get ICMP or any
sort of messaging from the outside world, nor can I ping anything else on
the same wire. I have changed the values in /etc/sysconfig but
nonetheless it still won't work.

I'd appreciate any help I can get--great piece of work, y'all.

Ben.
