SuperProbe reports .. First video: Super-VGA Chipset: Trident GUI 9660 Memory: 1024 Kbytes RAMDAC: Sierra SC1148{2,3,4} 15-bit or SC1148{5,7,9} 15/16-bit HiColor (with 6-bit wide lookup tables (or in 6-bit mode)) .. which isn't in anything but 3.1.2E and that doesn't seem to switch to graphic mode (I'm left with the text-mode output). iii) if I enable the pccard support, the zp0 driver stops seeing the 3c589 and the system reports a "device allocation failure" (I assume that I'd need to either wire in the nep driver or redefine the stuff in /etc/pccard.conf to point at the zp driver) .. suggestions ? iv) if I revert to the 2.1R code + pccard-test package, apm will simply hang the machine (power-off by removing battery :-() and the nep0 driver pulls the "link OK" on my hub at unpredictable intervals. "ifconfig nep0 down" followed by "ifconfig nep0 up" restores normal operation .. for a while .. Other than this .. it's a nice, quick and light machine :-) michael
