I am missing something I just dont know what. As a real rough guess ... have you fixed up the "chat script" line in um... that file that has your ISP's details in it (is it ppp.config? I'm on a different machine right now, sorry) That's the one part that the doccos cannot tell you. You have to carefully record your ISP's prompts and the required responses (username, password, etc) and model your own line using the examples and a few hunches. Apart from that, I slavishly followed the faq and handbook instructions and managed to get it working without once knowing what I was doing :-) If your script is OK for your ISP's login, tell us how far you get when you try to connect, and what it says when you fail, and we can work back from there.
