Speaking for only myself (after all, who else could I speak for?)...

I got one 2.2.8-RELEASE as part of the subscription, and bought an
extra one. I'm not too concerned about the changes between then and
2.2-STABLE, since they can be recreated through CVS.

I'm more interested in snapshotting those areas that don't use CVS
branches, like the ports collection. I worry that bit-rot will set
in, since ports are no longer required to build under 2.2. The
a.out to ELF transition doesn't help the bit-rot concerns.

As RW pointed out, however, a big exposure is in the distfiles that
go with the ports. I'm not sure you're even allowed to collect and
distribute all of them.

I have a couple of machines that are now at 2.1-STABLE, and I can
assure you adding a port I don't already have has become quite
difficult. I just don't want to get into that same space regarding
2.2.

Anyway, I'd be happiest with a CD-ROM set that contained an installable
2.2-STABLE (2.2.9?), the complete ports collection, and the distfiles
that go with the ports. I wouldn't need the live filesystem. I'd
buy however many CD's that took. Also documented should be the URLs
to any distfiles unable to be aggregated onto the CD's, so I could
fetch them myself and archive them here.

That'd be worth, oh say, $75 to me.
