What Windows OS do you have ? NT Workstaiton? Freebsd runs "extremely" well for task such as a intranet server, a backup media, games server etc etc. Had to learn that the hardway when I migrated to Redhat and the operating system trashed the intranet server and using the documentation I made and the backup of the contents recovered back to Freebsd. If your the system administrator of your network I suggest you get Freebsd and get rid of SuSE :) That is unless you are not the system administrator and your boss tells you he wants Linux :) I believe you can run StarOFfice 5.1 on the latest version of Freebsd Or if you run earlier version of Freebsd you can get StarOFfice 3.1 And Freebsd can live synonmously with NT. Freebsd's boot manager "booteasy" is so much better to use than using "lilo". So why not go to www.cdrom.com and purchase the latest copy of Freebsd >I have windoze on one hard drive, and SuSe5.3 linux on a second 10.8gig >master. > >I am a bit disappointed with the perfomance of the SuSe linux, and am >weary that the others may have the same problems. > >I am interested in an OS that will run a good office package(I have >Staroffice), and a Netscape browser suite. > >My systme is a 166Mhz AMD-K6,48mb memory, S3 virge graphics card wit 4MB >ram, soundblaster sound card, 2.1 gig windoze drive, 420mb utility >draive and the 10.8mb drive I have linux on. > >What would be your recommendation for my setting this up with FreeBSD?. > >Do you see any problems with what I have as a system? > >ANy other things I may have skipped over that may cause a problem? > >Thank You >Bill L > > >To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org >with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message > ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
