Hi, I used FIPS to split a partition on my 2nd hard-disk. I have DOS
boot sector on my 1st hard-disk, and part of my 2nd hard-disk is used
for MS DOS as well. I want to install FreeBSD on the new partition on my
2nd hard-disk. I have two novice dumb questions which I did not find the
exact same questions on the postings....

When I used boot.flp, I got the following error message:

Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode
    fault virtual address = 0 x 0
fault code = supervisor read, page not present
    instruction pointer = 0 x 8: 0 x f018c82d
    code segment = base 0 x 0, limit 0 x fffff, type 0 x 1b
                               = DPL 0, pres 1, def 32 1, gran 1
processor eflags = interrupt enabled, resume, IOPL = 0
    current process = 1 (swapper)
interrupt mask = net tty bio
    panic: page fault

    Syncing disks.....done
Automatic reboot in 15 seconds - press a key on the console to abort.

What is the fatal trap 12?

I also tried to used fixit.flp (it has been converted by rawrite), but my
DOS could not recognize the disk.

I'd greatly appreciate any answer.

Thanks

M. Wang
