Just because I am tired of incorrect information (repeated) when it is
freely available on the respective websites:

CGD:
http://cvsweb.netbsd.org/bsdweb.cgi/src/sys/dev/cgd.c
Revision 1.1 / (download) - annotate - [select for diffs], Fri Oct 4 18:22:35 2002 UTC (2 years, 5 months ago) by elric

BDE:
http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/src/sys/geom/bde/g_bde.c
Revision 1.1 / (download) - annotate - [select for diffs], Sat Oct 19 17:02:16 2002 UTC (2 years, 4 months ago) by phk

So, according to this, CGD existed in NetBSD's source tree 15 days before
GBDE was committed...

And it took me all of one minute to find this.
