Terry,

the best way to get the FreeBSD software/OS is to buy the CDRom Set from
http://www.freebsdmall.com, or from another trusted online retailer.

you can also download pre-made ISO image files of the install CDRom from
ftp://ftp.freebsd.org.

i highly recommend reading through the FreeBSD handbook before you install
and run FreeBSD. it's available online at http://www.freebsd.org/handbook.

last, but not least, AOL.com does not support any of the 'alternative' OSs
(FreeBSD, Linux, etc), so to run it, and access the internet, you may need
to use a different ISP.

hope this helps,
