Do you know of any companies who did such things, or any companies that support such application. Well, there's no real _support_ for this kind of thing, but... There is a single-floppy version of FreeBSD called PicoBSD which does exactly what you want--well, after some configuration. Search the web for PicoBSD and get a couple different versions and try them out. As I said in an earlier message to someone else, I had no luck with two different versions I tried, but the third one I got at least partially worked. With a little hacking, you should be able to put together a very nice router using PicoBSD. And, as a matter of opinion, for most things, a pentium is overkill as a router, unless you're going to do NAT, multiple routes and other stuff as well. I'm not sure what your intent is here, but if you're just putting together a single system or a couple of them, you may be able to save a ton of money by getting a used 486 PC/104 card instead of buying a new pentium one. Now that I mention it, I sure wish _I_ had a 486 PC/104 system...that'd be cool! :) > > Thanks and best regards, > > Eli Stein > Nbase Communications > > > > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org > with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Jeffrey Dunitz | Current Job: | orpheus@avalon.net BOFH Emeritus, Avalon Networks | Network Engineer | Eagan, MN, USA http://www.avalon.net/~orpheus | EXi Corporation | 651-523-6992 (work) To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
