I can't reproduce. Works fine locally and within a clean jail:

  $ pkg install cage firefox-esr
  $ export MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=3D1 XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=3D/tmp
  $ cage -d env -u DISPLAY firefox https://freebsd.org/

Need more details about the execution environment and backtrace from the cr=
ash.
