FreeBSD server 9.0-STABLE FreeBSD 9.0-STABLE #7: Sat Jan 28 18:07:47 CET 2012
>Description:
A reinstall of the port overwrites the existing self modified configuration files.
>How-To-Repeat:
Install the port, modify the /usr/local/etc/fail2ban/jail.conf and add new sections.
Now reinstall the port e.g. with portupgrade -f fail2ban.

The system overwrite all existing configuration files with the sample files.
>Fix:
Please install all sample config files as jail.conf.sample.
The user must copy the file then to jail.conf and can edit it.
This change will ensure that configurations are not overwritten by accident.
