I did a floppy install from a -SNAP not too much earlier than the one you are trying to do. What error messages does it gave you on vty1 (press Alt-F2)? Are you CERTAIN all the floppies are error free (again, the output on vty1 can help with this. Make sure the boot floppy you are using is from the same version as the version you are trying to install. Make sure the floppies are formatted all to the same density -- high density (y'know, 1.44MB space).
