Hello Richard, Your problem looks very similar to mine, only in my case I have two controllers in my machine, and one is working, one is not. Now I think I understand that though... I assume one of mine is a true PCMCIA controller, and the other is CardBus. I will check in my BIOS to see if I can override that, but I suspect not since it is the one for the "internal" slot.
