RHat >=6.0 should be OK. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Oops, how foolish of me. I should know better than to post with without specific details: OS: I've tried both RedHat 6.1 and 6.0 with the same result System: Gateway: ALR 8200R SCSI Controller: AIC 7890 (dual channel) - on the motherboard Drives: two IBM DNES-309170W Motherboard: Chipset 82440BX CPU: Dual 500 MHZ Pentium III SCSI Chipset: Adaptec AIC-7890AB This problem occurs when trying to install RedHat (6.0 and 6.1). I've tried the vanilla install mode and the expert mode with a separate driver disk. Both hang when trying to load aic7xxx. If nobody has any ideas, I'll probably drop in an IDE drive, bring up Linux without SCSI, and work on/with the SCSI drivers until I can figure out why it's not working. Again - any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks -jeff -- Jeffrey R. Calhoun Infobahn Outfitters jeff@outfitters.com P.O.
