If this goes out twice, I'm sorry. I think postfix/sendmail is broken for the time being. Also, this message has the right MB. =) Some time ago I purchased an Adaptec 2940U2W. To this date, I have not been able to get it to function in the computer I intended to, but it has successfully worked on two other systems. My system: AMD K6-2 300 FIC 2013 MB (VIA chipset) Under linux, the hard drive timed out continuously. Under windows, it ran fine. Transplanted the drive into Celeron system, all scsi settings were left the same, and it worked fine, right along side a different (Adavsys) scsi card. Transplanted the card/drive into a p166, and it worked fine. Installed linux on the drive and it ran problem free until we switched the network card. The time out errors returned. Moved the NIC to a different PCI slot, and it worked fine again. Well, I tried a similar strategy on my system. Removed everything but the scsi card and the video card (Diamond v770 Ultra) and tried out the scsi card in all 4 pci slots, each time checking /proc/pci, /proc/scsi. /proc/inturrupts, etc. for conflicts. I found the scsi card a home with no conflicts, but still got the timeout errors. If anyone has any other I'd like to hear them, I'd really like to get this hardware working. =) -- |> Andrew S.
