https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=203782 Bug ID: 203782 Summary: devel/gdb: Enable KGDB by default Product: Ports & Packages Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: Individual Port(s) Assignee: freebsd-ports-bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: jhb@FreeBSD.org CC: bdrewery@FreeBSD.org, emaste@freebsd.org, luca.pizzamiglio@gmail.com Flags: maintainer-feedback?(luca.pizzamiglio@gmail.com) CC: luca.pizzamiglio@gmail.com Created attachment 162056 --> https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=162056&action=edit enable_kgdb Just today I ran into a case where I would have liked to have been able to just do 'pkg install gdb' and get newer kgdb. For my personal machines using powderkeg I can enable it easily enough, but for debugging on someone else's machines using pkg.freebsd.org it would be really nice for this to Just Work(tm). Unfortunately kgdb can't be split out easily into a new port, so I'd like to just enable KGDB by default. (We eventually want to do this anyway before we can remove ancient gdb from the base system.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
