My slowest SGI systems have faster metadata updates than my fastest FreeBSD systems, same disk hardware. No details yet as to the license terms. Hope they are open enough for it to have a chance at becoming FreeBSD's default fs. Wouldn't it be a hoot if Sun adopted SGI's XFS filesystem too?
