I'd say gofer it. I for one have *NO* plans on upgrading any mission-critical boxes to 3.0, simply because I'm not convinced it's got enough milage under it, so I'm sticking with 2.2. It's nicer to have things 'officially', plus it's trivial to not do a 'make world' to upgrade if you don't want to mess with all of the new features, and instead take them piecemeal.
