*sigh* Figured as much. I was hoping that, since it claims to be SBPRO
compatible,
the sb drivers might work. pcm doesn't work since (AFAIK) it uses pnp,
which
is strictly an ISA phenomenon.

Programming docs? From TOSHIBA???? Surely you jest, sir. Getting
anything
from those people is far worse than pulling teeth. The standard refrain
is
Me: Can't get sound working ...
Them: Click on My Computer, then....
Me: (Interupting the interuption) under FreeBSD and need programming
data
for the sound device.
Them: FreeBSD? Is that a new Microsoft app?
and it goes steadily downhill from there.
Can't go to CURRENT on this box, unfortunately, either. I use it for a
lot
of work-related stuff, and I need it to be fairly stable. Will look at
the newpcm code, though; thanks for the pointer. Will also write to
Cameron
and see if there's anything I *can* do to help.
