A couple of things I would suggest is try to tweak your kernel if you're running a generic binary that may decrease your performance a bit. If you *are* using the same mainboard it may be an issue of an unreliable storage controller. See if your BIOS is up to date and also paste a dmesg to the list and put in any more hardware specifications you can for good measure.
