1. Hmmm... Not sure...

2 & 3. Sounds like your kernel is out of step with the rest of the sources -
you may need to recompile libkvm, or the kernel - or both...

4. ;-) - If you've got problems with 3.0 try posting to 'current', as 3.0 is
current (and by the sound of it you have rebuilt the world, or kernel from
later-than-system-installed source  - by the sound of it ;-)
