I've applied the one line change to gcc10 on FreeBSD12.2S, and without any other changes this is my observation. With the patch -rwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 854248 17 Feb 17:57 /usr/local/bin/gcc10 Without the patch -rwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 1202736 16 Jan 2021 /usr/local/bin/gcc10* Building gcc10 with the patch took longer to build/package.
