Further pointers to related information will be appreciated. The Live Filesystem CD can be used for a great many things. Since it's just like a regular BSD volume, you can mount it and access it like any disk. One thing you can do with it is using the 'lndir' utility, you can make a symlink tree of parts of the source tree. Then the files don't take (much) space on your hard disk; instead you pop in your CD and look at them that way. Also, if you accidentally hose some file, you can just copy it off the CD without having to extract the distribution files.
