Probably. I seem to remember it originally being msmith's baby, and he's an underscore junkie. ;-) > I've not committed linux-devel yet, so now is the time to decide if it > should be called that way because it replaces linux_devel, or that we > should think of an alternative to avoid confusion with common > -devel/-latest tags. If "linux-devel" is the same as the existing "linux_devel" except for being newer, then you should use "linux_devel-latest" or "linux_devel-devel". For obvious reasons, I strongly encourage the former. :) If they're really different ports, or if you think "linux_devel" is a misleading name (it probably is...), then you can use "xxx" and "xxx-latest". You then state port dependencies on either linux_devel-latest or linux_devel as appropriate. When all is ready, the port dependencies are changed (yes, this is a pita) and linux_devel-latest is repo-copied over to linux_devel. It's not really as complicated as it sounds. Honest. :) > largest number of people. If -latest is common and acceptable, then there's > still nothing lost. I can always use -lastest then. But that's for later. The -latest isn't common, but it's acceptable. :) Version numbers are also acceptable, just do them in the standard normal fashion!! There is no formal difference between them, just choose whichever style seems appropriate. -- This is my .signature which gets appended to the end of my messages.
