Be aware, however, that unless the window has the override_redirect attribute set, the window manager determines whether the window is actually raised. ngaid> or to "always" stay on top? This is really a function of the window manager. Some window managers have the ability to specify windows to always stay on top, some don't. However, you can probably fake it by trapping VisibilityNotify events and forcing the window to the top unless it is unobscured.
