In 4.x-current, Cameron has just committed his new pcm driver. These add support for the Trident4wave PCI sound card chipset and an Aureal PCI chipset and extracts out all the AC97 common functionality. In addition Doug has just committed new PnP code which can work out the PnP resource allocation automatically. There is no longer a need for all that pnp 1 0 os enable port0 0x220 irq0 1 irq1 5 etc etc etc things. However, there is still the problem of supporting chipsets. If you want to take a look at the new source code, and you don't track -current, you can look at it all with this URL http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/src/sys/dev/pcm Roger To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-multimedia" in the body of the message
