It comes off as rather elitist and people who read newsgroups only, don't have an equal opportunity to respond. If they also subscribe to the mailing list, they have to wade through the same messages twice. Makes more sense to me if some of the high profile prolific proselytizers participate even more in the newgroups (and point people to the mailing lists as appropriate). My 2 cents. --bakul
