I can mount a cd-rom without problems and permissions are fine. `dmesg' output follows. After that is my kernel configuration. There is one problem, not related to GEOM (it's been going on for at least a month), which follows: whenever I reboot the laptop from FreeBSD back into FreeBSD it never gets past "Mounting root ..." The only way I can get it to boot properly is by powering off the laptop. On the other hand I can boot into Windows Millennium fine after rebooting from FreeBSD and into FreeBSD from Windows Millennium. So it seems to just be rebooting from FreeBSD and booting FreeBSD.
