My patch probably made the linker happy at the expense of including unused /dev/io code. A better patch would probably be to properly #ifdef the references that weren't gated by USE_DEV= _IO. I had the opinion when they yanked out the old configuration method (upstre= am) that they only got the stuff working for x86.
