Folks- I've been running a slip line off my bsd box... running with the 2.0 cdrom version. (I'm waiting until 2.1cdrom to upgrade if possible) The connection (and box, a 486dx2/80, 16MB, 28800baud...) have been very reliable. However, have a few minutes of using pppd for connection to a cisco router, the system panics... at the pppd process. (pagefault error I think... I can get more detail if necessary...) My question is this: Is this a know problem with 2.0 that is fixed in 2.0.5? To get pppd running, I recompiled the kernel with the pseudo-device ppp 1 line in the new config file. That was the only change. I did a manual connection with cu (at 115200 speed) and got in just fine. Suspended the cu connect, and with the options file containing crtscts modem passive domain xxx.xxx defaultroute the connect worked. I didn't set the noipdefault... I currently have a static ip. I could ping, telnet and ftp just fine with this. But, after a bit of ftp, or sending a X-client to display at my PC, I got the panic. Ideas? (I can give more detail if necessary...)
