This brings back a lot of memories. My first real UNIX work station was a DEC Alpha 3000 with a CDE desktop. I've been meaning to port this. The source has been sitting in my home directory on my laptop for a while now, just haven't found the time yet. Trying to build it with DEVELOPER=yes in make.conf I get. slippy$ make /!\ cde-2.2.3: Makefile warnings, please consider fixing /!\ Please set LICENSE for this port /!\ cde-2.2.3: Makefile errors /!\ USE_XZ is unsupported, please use USES=tar:xz *** Error code 1 Stop. make: stopped in /export/home/cy/freebsd/svn/ports/x11-wm/cde slippy$ There was build error on my 12-CURRENT laptop when DEVELOPER=yes was not specified (sorry, I cannot remember what it was). I also built it 11-RELEASE VM. I don't have access to the VM at the moment but what I do recall is it installed files in /usr/dt/dt in addition to $LOCALBASE. /etc/dt/dt was a symlink to /usr/local/dt. I'll find the time to reproduce the errors and send the to you. Thanks again for the port. It was on my list of things to do (probably after retirement :) ). -- Cheers, Cy Schubert <Cy.Schubert@cschubert.com> FreeBSD UNIX: <cy@FreeBSD.org> Web: http://www.FreeBSD.org The need of the many outweighs the greed of the few.
