The following reply was made to PR ports/114016; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Jasper Jongmans <j.jongmans@aprogas.student.utwente.nl> To: bug-followup@FreeBSD.org, frank@pinky.sax.de Cc: Subject: Re: ports/114016: [maintainer update] www/polipo to 1.0.1 Date: Sun, 22 Jul 2007 13:19:07 +0200 It seems that the maintainer update of www/polipo was committed with a slight difference in the patch to files/polipo.sh.in, specifically the exclusion of the -f switch to rm. If the pidfile is already nonexistent, rm without the -f switch will return a non-zero exit code and the rc.subr system will consider the precmd as failed and abort (unless using forcestart), resulting in the polipo process not being started. Adding the -f switch, as in the original patch proposed by the port's maintainer, should prevent this from occuring.
